But crowding around a PC is hardly the coolest way to share them with friends or family. Roku is a new product that brings your PC music and pictures into the family room A/V system.

The Roku 1000HD is a sleek "black box" that we install alongside your A/V equipment. Then we connect it to your home network so it can ‘see' computers on your network that are set to share files - MP3 music files and digital pictures. Next, Roku creates an easy to navigate menu of all your pictures or music and displays it on your TV. You simply select the songs or pictures you want and they're played or displayed on you're A/V system.

Roku liberates your growing library of digital music files from your PC so you can enjoy your favorite music through the high-quality sound system in your living room. MP3, WAV and AIFF files are all supported and Roku can 'talk' to Mac, PC, and Linux based computers.

Perhaps the best part of using Roku to listen to PC music is the stunning graphical user interface. With a simple hand held remote (or with our custom programming added to your touch screen) you can navigate your music library folder by folder, just like it's stored on your PC.

Photos are crystal-clear on your high-definition big-screen TV and Roku lets you relax and enjoy them in a leisurely atmosphere - instead of crowding around a PC. You can also view pictures directly from your digital camera's memory card. Simply snap the memory card into the slot on the front of the Roku.

An added benefit of Roku is plasma screen burn-in protection. The HD1000 has a “screen saver” mode that activates when one of your other video sources stops moving.

Roku HD1000 works with any TV, but it was built from the ground up to support high-definition television. It's the only digital media player on the market that lets you take full advantage of your HDTV.
